3D builder troubleshooting and FAQ
Messages you may see
Section titled “Messages you may see”“Enter just the domain, e.g. www.yourwebsite.com”
The Domain or Additional domain field contains something other than a bare domain, usually a pasted URL with https:// or a path. Click one of the Did you mean suggestions under the field, or edit the value by hand.
“Enter the full URL, including https:// — e.g. https://yourwebsite.com/book-now”
A URL field (CTA URL, custom page URL, unit Reserve URL or location Site URL) is missing its scheme or is malformed. Click a Did you mean suggestion to add https://.
Calculators created before August 2026 may have been saved with the CTA URL as a bare domain. These now show this error on the Options step. Accept the suggested https:// version once and press Next. The published calculator keeps working in the meantime.
“Couldn’t save your changes” The save did not reach the server. Your edits are still on screen and the step is still marked as changed. Press Next again. If it keeps failing, check your connection and try once more before leaving the builder, so you do not lose the edits.
“Couldn’t load the preview” The live preview could not fetch your calculator. Click Try again. The preview only exists after the first Next on the Options step.
“Failed to load embed code” Click Try again or the refresh button on the Confirm step.
“Item catalog is unavailable, so categories cannot be re-synced” The Calcumate item catalog could not be loaded. Your existing categories are untouched. Reload the page and open the Categories step again.
“Some steps are still missing” You are leaving a new calculator before reaching the Confirm step. Choose Stay to continue, or Exit and use defaults to finish the calculator with default settings for the steps you skipped. See Getting started.
“We couldn’t finish your calculator” One of the steps being filled with defaults failed to save. Everything before it was saved. Press Retry to continue from the failed step, or Stay to keep working.
“Unsaved changes” You are leaving a finished calculator with edits that have not been saved. Save and exit saves them, Discard changes drops them, Cancel returns to the builder.
“Switching to Imperial will replace your storage units with the default imperial sizes” Changing the measurement system resets your units. Cancel if you have custom units you want to keep, and write them down first.
“Preset name must be unique” Another preset already uses that name, ignoring case. Choose a different one.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”The calculator does not appear on my website. Check that the embed code was pasted into an HTML or custom code block, not a plain text block, that the page was published, and that the domain on the Options step matches the website address. Then try the Standard embed variant if you used a platform-specific one.
Do I have to complete every step? No. Only the Options step needs real input. Every other step has defaults, and leaving early fills in any step you skipped. You can come back and change anything later.
Does Back save my changes? No. Back only moves to the previous step. Your edits stay on screen and are saved the next time you press Next, click another step, or choose Save and exit.
Why can’t I click a later step? On a new calculator, steps unlock in order as you press Next. Open an existing calculator and all steps are available at once.
I edited a published calculator. Do I need a new embed code? No. Saved changes appear on your website the next time the calculator loads. The embed code does not change.
Can I undo a reset of units or presets? Yes. After resetting, an undo button appears next to the reset button. It restores what you had before the first reset and stays available until you use it or close the builder. Deleting a single unit or preset cannot be undone.
Why do my units have metric sizes when I chose Imperial? Changing the measurement system on Options offers to replace the units with imperial defaults. If you cancelled that dialog, the previous units were kept. Go to the Units step and use the reset button to load the imperial defaults, or edit the units by hand.
The default category icons are not what I want. Click the icon on any category or preset card to open the icon picker and choose another one.
My logo still shows the old image after I uploaded a new one. Reload the page. The new file replaces the old one, but your browser may show a cached copy for a short time.
How does CalcumateGEO decide which calculator a visitor sees? It uses the visitor’s position, determined by the Location method you chose, and serves the calculator linked to the nearest location that shows Ready for GEO. See Locations.
Can two calculators share locations? Yes. Locations belong to your account, not to one calculator. Each location is linked to one calculator, and all your calculators can see the full list.
Where do leads go? To the email addresses you added under Request lead details in Advanced settings. Add at least one address or the form has nowhere to send submissions.
